These crowd-pleasers are definitely easy on the budget, and we chose them just for you (hope that doesn't seem too forward).
Then, to boot, we're offering 10% off six (one of each) and 15% off a case (two of each).
Villa Pozzi Nero D'Avola 2008. This wine is our go-to crowd pleaser. A Nero d’Avola with red currants and red plum flavors and aromas all mixed in with a bit of smoky, meaty flavor. Mmmmm.
Domaine La Bastide Syrah 2007. Give this winner a little air and you’ll be greeted with dark fruit, a little spice, and when it has time to open up... a bit of bacony goodness. A great crowd pleaser for cooler evenings.
Castano Monastrell 2007. A bargain of a wine with loads of dark fruit, black pepper and a tiny bit of floral.
Lurton Pinot Gris 2008. If you like Pinot Gris from Alsace but are on a budget, try this gem from Argentina. White peaches, melons, mandarin oranges and flowers with a viscous texture provides roundness balanced by good, clean acidity.
Giocato Pinot Grigio 2008. Just over the Italian border, this Slovenian wine has chalky, mineral notes and lots of complexity for the dollar.
Segura Viudas Brut Reserva Cava. Made from the traditional Penedés grapes – Macebo (a.k.a. Viura in the Rioja region), Parellada, and Xarel-lo – this dry Cava delivers aromas and flavors of apples and a touch of herbs with tight bubbles and good acidity.
A six-pack starter kit comes in at a mere $60.04, and a case runs $113.40. Let the games begin.
